Visa information
Citizens of the majority of the countries require visas to get to Russia. The visas cannot be obtained at the border – only in the Russian Consulates.
The fastest and the cheapest way to get a visa is to apply for a tourist visa. The organizing committee will provide the participants with visa support, witch is a tourist voucher. A tourist voucher is a tourist acceptance confirmation of a Russian tourist agency with its reference number.
Tourist vouchers make the procedure of getting visas easier and cheaper for you and is better than an invitation.
In order to get the voucher you have to:
1. Send the passport copies of the delegates to a.novakovskaya@redu.ru
2. In one or two days you get the electronic copy of the voucher. Generally this copy is enough for the Consulate. But if you surely need the original (you called the consulate and they said it is required) they will be sent to you by post.
After that you must call the local Russian consulate, ask about the documents needed, then take the voucher and other documents required for getting your visas and go to the consulate to obtain them.
The voucher is not a visa!
